Spring into Colour KAL: What We Made
I’m not sure how it’s possible, but April has come to an end, which also marks the official completion of the Spring into Colour KAL! Let’s have a peek at what’s been happening over in the Ravelry KAL these past two months (and thanks, as always, to our group members for generously allowing us to feature their work — click any of the photos to go straight to the relevant Ravelry project page).
I think it’s fair to say we have a lot of colourwork lovers in our Ravelry group, and there have certainly been some glorious stranded projects in the mixer for this KAL.
Beate used the KAL as motivation to finish her gorgeous Seaweed Slipover using yarn she’d purchased on a trip to Shetland:
While Debi made a start on an arresting Arrina using a lovely mix of J&S 2ply Jumperweight that she picked from the online shop:
The release of Katie’s Kep, this year’s Shetland Wool Week Hat, coincided with our knitalong; several group members whipped up some really lovely versions:
Some truly impressive two-colour cables were on show:
And some fabulous stripes (we love stripes!):
And a few knitters used the KAL as a good opportunity to finish off (and in some cases start!) some multicolour Boost Your Knitting projects. Here are Leslie’s completed Heartgyle Socks — hoorah for WIP busting!
As always, the chat will continue as long as people are posting in the Ravelry thread — if you’d like some colourful inspiration, you can browse all the images in the thread here as well! And if this has got you itching to join in a KAL, there’s also plenty of colourful knitting going on over in our Comfort Blanket knitalong … and there may just be a new KAL for you to dip your toes into soon!
