The Bonhomie Wrap + Something to Knit Together Knitalong Details!
Happy Wednesday folks! It’s here, it’s here, the kickoff of our summer of knitting together! Today, I get to reveal the first pattern from our brand new Something to Knit Together ebook which features four designs by the oh-so-talented Sarah Hatton, and I’ll also be sharing all the details for our newest knitalong.
The Bonhomie Wrap
Say bonjour to the Bonhomie Wrap!
I’m so excited that we’re starting things off with this generously-sized wrap … the knitting equivalent of a cozy hug from a friend! I had such a lot of fun knitting the sample and I think when you cast on, you’ll see why …
It’s a rectangle, but not as you know it. This wrap begins it’s life as a triangular shawl, starting with an icord tab cast on and steadily growing. Just as those rows start feeling a bit long, it’s time for a change! You divide the two sides of the triangle and work them on a bias, transforming your triangle shawl into a rectangular wrap. Neat, huh?
In addition to its clever construction, the Bonhomie Wrap is filled with details that make it an un-put-downable knit. Those bands of lace, eyelet and a little bit of texture provide just the right amount of variety, while being intuitive enough that you can knit along with friends! The lace instructions come in both written and charted formats, so you can use whichever you prefer. I am willing to bet you’ll keep planning to knit just one more band til suddenly you have a finished wrap! And then there’s the integrated i-cord edging — totally swoon worthy and it gives the whole thing a polished finish. The result is a versatile and classic … the sort of knit I imagine reaching for to tie together an outfit for years to come.
The pattern calls for 10 skeins of our Something to Knit With 4ply which gives crisp stitch definition and lovely drape to this piece. After the, ahem, enthusiastic response to the kits for this collection, we’ve been nearly cleared out of our beautiful own 4ply, but as of this writing we do have a few wrap quantities available in Blanket, Cherry Blossom, Sea and Storm. If you fancy it, do be quick as once this yarn is gone, it’s gone (sniff!). If you’re after an alternative yarn, Coop Knits Socks Yeah! 4ply would also make for a lovely lightweight wrap.
If you’re ready to knit the Bonhomie Wrap and haven’t already purchased the Something to Knit Together eBook, you can purchase it directly from our online shop … four patterns, each released every three weeks, to see us through a fun summer of knitting!
Something to Knit Together KAL
The launch of our new collection also means a new knitalong, and we think this one is going to be pretty special! We’ll be celebrating and knitting along on the four new patterns from the collection of course, but you can also join in with any Arnall-Culliford Knitwear pattern (including any pattern from our print publications or digital downloads) or Sarah Hatton pattern of your choosing. Tag your projects on Ravelry and Instagram with #SomethingtoKnitTogether and come join the chat in the Bonhomie Wrap thread in our Ravelry group. There will be weekly prizes and we have some Zoom calls planned so we can knit together in real time … you will find the Zoom invitation in your pattern update email!
Shall we get this knitting party started? Needles at the ready, grab your yarn and let’s knit something together! (And psst, if you have a friend you think might like to join in the fun, don’t forget about our nifty referral programme!) If you’ve not got your copy of the eBook yet, you can purchase it on Ravelry or directly from our online shop. You’ll immediately receive the Bonhomie Wrap, and then each of the three subsequent patterns as they’re released (one every three weeks through 2 September 2020).
