Conviviality Cardigan — the penultimate Something to Knit Together design!
Ready to sink your teeth into the next Something to Knit Together project? Let me introduce you to the third pattern designed by Sarah Hatton for the Something to Knit Together eBook: the Conviviality Cardigan.
There are so many things to love about this cardigan — a wardrobe staple that’s packed with gorgeous details! You begin by knitting a lace panel for the shawl collar, casting on provisionally and knitting the first side, then returning to that cast-on edge and working the second side. Stitches are then picked up along the lace panel and raglan increases established (with sweet eyelet details) to work the cardigan top down. Lace panels continue down either side before resolving into tidy twisted rib. The result is a swingy, easeful cardigan with minimal finishing that I think you’ll reach for again and again.
Once again, Sarah has brought the perfect mix of engaging and relaxing to this pattern. The pattern includes a tutorial to see you through dividing the cardigan body and sleeves, and then picking up stitches for the underarms. A nifty table is included in the pattern to help you track your edge, sleeve and body increases — great practice in pattern management! And once the yoke is complete, all that remains is a stocking stitch body with a few A-line increases and your already established lace and rib panel and plain stocking stitch sleeves.
Knit up in our Something to Knit With 4ply, this cardigan has a beautiful drape. The last (sniff!) of our beautiful 70% Highland Wool and 30% Superfine Alpaca is in the online shop — there is a single sweater quantity of Sea (the sample colourway, which pairs wonderfully with jeans!) and a few SQs of Blanket (for a classic cream cardigan) as of this writing. Grab it while you can! And if you have already purchased the ebook, don’t forget there is a discount code in your Welcome Pack pdf that gets you 20% off Something to Knit With yarn.
I hope you love this cardigan as much as I do — I have to admit, as sad as I am that we won’t have Something to Knit With 4ply on the shelves, I am excited that means I can wear this beauty to my heart’s content, rather than keeping it pristine for a show sample! Our Something to Knit Together Knitalong continues over in the Ravelry group, and we’d love to see your progress on Instagram using the #SomethingtoKnitTogether hashtag!
And if you’d like to join in the fun, it’s never too late! We’ll be knitting together through September … you can purchase the Something To Knit Together eBook now in the online shop. You’ll instantly receive all three patterns released to date (including the Bonhomie Wrap and Camaraderie Hat) and the fourth and final pattern when it is released, as well as exclusive discount codes and details for our Something to Knit Together Zoom calls!
Happy knitting!
