Knitted toys can make for fun and cheeky companions, and they really come to life with good finishing. Today, we have a trio of tutorials to give you confidence in making up your toys!
First up, some tips for getting beautifully stuffed toys … taking a bit of time in this first step of finishing will make a world of difference to your finished object:
Once your pieces are stuffed, you’ll be ready to sew them together — and here, I show you how it’s done. Again, the delight (and devil) is in the details, so if you’re unhappy with your first attempt try, try again!
And finally, add personality to your toy by creating a face! So much of a knitted toy’s personality is down to its face, so again, it’s worth being open to making multiple attempts to get the look you’re after!
These techniques take a bit of time, along with a willingness to start again if needs be, but the extra time you take will be repaid many times in enjoyment of a cute toy to bring a smile to yours or a loved one’s face!
