It’s hard to believe, but in just a few days the final Something to Knit Together pattern will be released! There’s been some skillful knitting on display in the knitalongs … let’s have a peek at some finished objects and works-in-progress!
Bonhomie Bliss
We’ve loved seeing all your versions of the Bonhomie Wrap take shape. This is a pattern with lots of flexibility, and it shows in the nearly three dozen WIPs on Ravelry! Whether you’ve opted for a smaller lace-weight version, played with the sizing, used multiple colours or knit it exactly as written, most of you seem to agree this is the perfect relaxing project to keep by the couch, with it’s more-ish blend of texture, lace and stocking stitch. Anne was one of the first finishers of the wrap — she’s used two colours and shrunk the size to great effect:
Jennifer’s gorgeous wrap-in-progress … I love how it looks in the Twilight shade of Something to Knit With 4ply.
As one of the biggest projects in the collection, many of us are still beavering away on our wraps, so if you’ve been contemplating a cast on, why not join us?
Cool Camaraderie
The release of the Camaraderie Hat coincided with a bit of a heatwave here in the UK, and quite a few KAL participants enthusiastically traded wraps for hats as summer temps spiked! Here’s Debi’s cheerful version … knit in Coop Knits Socks Yeah! 4ply. I love that it coordinates with her Antirrhinum Socks!
Kay’s version, looking totally classic in Something to Knit With 4ply in Blanket:
And here’s Sarah’s version … I love how sculptural it looks in a slightly heavier weight yarn!
Other KAL shenanigans
There have also been plenty of folks choosing to knit from Arnall-Culliford Knitwear or Sarah Hatton patterns they had in their library (which are both eligible for the KAL). It’s been fun to see some of Sarah’s extensive back catalogue popping up in the threads, as well as people tackling A Year of Techniques and Boost Your Knitting patterns they might have missed out the first time around. Here’s Heidi’s Bithynica Shawl from Something New to Learn About Lace (which I think many of us have been referring to during this KAL!) with a fun cat cameo:
Conviviality Cardigans, the most recent Something to Knit Together pattern, are also starting to take shape! I’ve really been enjoying working on my own version and am looking forward to knitting along with many of you through the last weeks of summer!
If you’d like to take part, we’ll be knitting along through September, so there’s still plenty of time to join the KAL fun! You can purchase the Something to Knit Together eBook in the online shop — you’ll immediately receive the three already-released patterns (Bonhomie Wrap, Camaraderie Hat and Conviviality Cardigan) as well as the fourth and final pattern release on 2 September. There are accompanying photo and video tutorials, chat and tips in the knitalong threads over in our Ravelry group and weekly prizes. You can also share your progress using the #SomethingtoKnitTogether hashtag on Instagram.
