How are things in your corner of the world? I always find this time of year a bit funny … no major holidays to look forward to, spring not yet arrived … a time of year where you need to work a bit extra to find some excitement, perhaps? If this rings true to you, you might like to know that this month’s Confident Knitting designer Carol Feller is about to kick off a mystery shawl knitalong. I think it sounds like just the thing to see off any late winter doldrums and occupy anyone looking for a new challenge post-Confident Knitting.
If you’ve never participated in a mystery knitalong before, they can be a whole heap of fun! You receive clues on a published schedule, and while you generally know something about what you’re knitting — in the case of Carol’s new Quilted Feather MKAL, she’s shared it’s a “delicate, semi-circular shawl that's knit from the top-down with high contrast yarns” — you won’t know what the finished object looks like until you’ve completed the last clue. As we know, it can be super fun to knit along with others, and knowing the next clue is imminent can be a great motivator for staying dedicated to a project. Carol’s knitalong includes access to video workshop to accompany the pattern. It kicks of 24th February and runs for one month. You can read the full details here, and she’s also got yarn kits if you fancy it.
We think the Quilted Feather MKAL sounds like it’s going to be a blast … Carol is an innovative designer with a keen eye for beautiful detail and fabulous techniques. But if mysteries aren’t your cup of tea … at least when it comes to knitting … Carol has an extensive and beautiful portfolio of garment and accessory patterns to choose from. Happy knitting!
